To better understand how high blood pressure can lead to ED, we first need to have understanding of how erection works. Getting an erection might seem like an easy process but is really a complicated process.

Anatomy of an Erection

In the tube of the penis there are two side-by-side chambers of spongy tissue called the corpora cavernosa. They are the ones mainly responsible for erections. Just below those chambers is another compartment called the corpus spongiosum. The urethra, which carries semen and urine, runs through the center of it.

When men get an erection, nerve signals from your brain or from the nerve endings in your penis cause the smooth muscle of the chambers to relax and arteries to dilate, or open wider. This allows a lot of blood to fill the empty spaces. The pressure of blood flow is what causes a man to get an erection.

Factors Responsible for ED

High blood pressure is a major cause of ED. Research found that about 49% of men ages 40-79 with high blood pressure had of ED.

High blood pressure keeps the arteries that carry blood into the penis from dilating the way they're supposed to. It also makes the smooth muscle in the penis lose its ability to relax. As a result, not enough blood flows into the penis to make it erect.
Men with high blood pressure may also have a low testosterone level. Testosterone is the male hormone that plays a big role in sexual arousal.

High blood pressure by itself can lead to erectile dysfunction. But some drugs for treating high blood pressure can actually be the cause as well.
Diuretics (or water pills) and beta-blockers are the blood pressure drugs most commonly linked to ED.

Diuretics may cause ED by decreasing the force of blood flow into the penis. They may also lower the quantity of zinc in the body. Your body needs zinc to make testosterone.

Beta-adrenergic antagonists dampen the response to nerve cells that lead to a hardness. They also make it more difficult for the arteries in the penis to widen and allow the blood in. What's more, they can make you feel sedated and - and the mind always plays some act in sexual arousal.

Sometimes, some choices men with high blood pressure make can add to the problem. Smoking, often, is one of those. Smoking increases blood pressure, and damages blood vessels and lowers blood flow all around the body.

The power to take control of your blood pressure and your sexual health is in your hands. By living a healthy lifestyle and working with your medical practitioner, there's a very good chance you'll once again be able to have normal sexual function.

At the end, if you happen to have ED, then talk to your medical practitioner regarding generic Cialis Tadalafil (tadalafil 20mg pills)to see which is the right treatment for you.

Sex seems like an endlessly stimulating, gratifying and straightforward act. However, for some people and couples the reality is a little different. This article is about ED, a rather common sexual problem in men with diabetes.

What is ED

Sexual dysfunction is defined as the unrelenting inability to get or sustain an erection that is satisfactory for sexual activity. Most men will experience sexual problems during their life, but if the condition lasts for 3 months or longer, it is medically described as Sexual dysfunction.

Although Sexual dysfunction affects most men at some point in their lives, it is much more common in men with diabetes. 50 percent of men will experience Sexual dysfunction within ten years of diagnosis of diabetes. Men who are older with a longer extent of diabetes, poor blood glucose control, or who smoke, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease, are at highest risk.

Diabetes can cause injury to the walls of the blood vessels, which affects circulation and blood flow to the penis. Sexual dysfunction can also be a side effect of drugs that are often prescribed to men with diabetes.

Treating ED

There are a number of effective treatments for Sexual dysfunction. It is important for sexual partners to be involved in any discussion about choice of treatment.

Pills called PDE5 inhibitors like Cialis Tadalafil or Tadalafil 20mg (most common form), Viagra, and Levitra help a man achieve and maintain an erection. With help from partner, these Pills increase blood flow to the penis, allowing an erection to occur naturally.

Canadian drug pharmacies have begun stocking a new full-time version of an anti-impotence drug its makers say will allow men to be sexually impulsive, day and night.

Tadalafil was originally designed to be taken on an as needed basis, with one dose enduring up to 36 hours, earning it the name "Le Weekend” when first approved in Europe in 2002.

Now the pill being repackaged and sold in a once-a-day, lower-dose version. Taken daily, the drug builds in a man's body until it reaches a circulating level in the bloodstream that would allow a man to be sexually energetic whenever the time is right, according to a news release issued by drug giant, Lilly Icos.

Once-a-day Tadalafil 20mg will cost $3.80 per pill.
Last year, more than 1.6 million prescriptions for erectile dysfunction drugs were sold by Canadian drug stores, according to prescription drug tracking firm IMS Health Canada. About 593,000 of those prescriptions were for tadalafil, the generic name for generic Tadalafil.

Tadalafil belongs to a class of medications known as PDE-5 inhibitors that includes Sildenafil and Vardenafil. The drug acts on the chemical signals that open up the blood vessels in the penis.

The drugs aren't thought to benefit men with normal sexual activity. And there can be rare side-effects that can include headache, facial flushing and upset stomach. The drug should not be used by men who are taking nitrates or those with heart disease "for whom sexual activity is not advisable," Lilly Icos says.

Lilly Icos says once-a-day erectile dysfunction drugs can help with what is known as "penile rehabilitation" after prostate cancer surgery.

In addition, men who experience side effects with the on demand Tadalafil may better abide the once-a-day version, which comes in 2.5 and 5 mg capsules, says Lilly Icos.
